The Church began in 1953 as an extension of Central Union Church
in Honolulu, meeting at various Windward locations. Harold Castle donated three acres of land and groundbreaking began in
November 1955. Our first worship service in Central Union Windward was held June 10, 1956. In January 1963, the congregation
became independent, emerging as Windward United Church of Christ. Watch
for special 50th Anniversary celebration events throughout 2005.
Our Staff
Pastor, Rev. Darren T. Galindo
Rev. Galindo has served congregations in California
and Hawai`i and began his ministry here in August, 1995. He has his MDiv from Claremont School of Theology and BA from Chapman
University. He is ordained by the Disciples of Christ. He and his kama`aina wife Liza have three daughters.
